Glossary

Collection (n.) – A Collection is a seasonal release of typefaces designed under a unifying theme, concept, or story. Each collection introduces a new set of typefaces that may share subtle visual elements or simply be connected through a broader creative direction. While some collections maintain a strong stylistic thread, others explore a range of ideas within a single release. Each new collection marks an evolution in design, expanding the creative landscape over time.

Silhouette (n.) – The overall form and presence of a font, defining its visual impact, whether bold and striking or light and delicate. If a typeface has only one silhouette, it’s called a Uniform Silhouette, though more silhouettes may be added in the future.

Typeface (n.) – A Typeface is the foundation of visual identity, shaping language through form. Like a garment, it carries structure, movement, and intention. Some typefaces are fluid, adapting to their context, while others stand firm, commanding presence on their own. Each curve, proportion, and silhouette is deliberate. A typeface is not an accessory, it is the design itself.

Form (n.) – Form is structure in its purest state. It shapes, holds, and defines. It is neither surface nor addition—it is the essence.

Sur-mesure (n.) – A commissioned typeface, crafted exclusively for a client or project. It exists as a singular expression of form.

Signature (n.) – The defining typeface of a collection, the focal point.

Essential (n.) – A clean, functional typeface, timeless, balanced, and foundational.

Neutral (n.) – A quiet presence that refines without demanding attention.

Archive Revision (n.) – A refined and updated version of an older typeface.

Expansion (n.) – A drastic rework of an existing typeface, transformed into something new.

Artisanal (n.) – A conceptual typeface, avant-garde, expressive, unconventional.
